Readkit for ios1/28/2024 It’s not my daily RSS client, but it’s so good, especially on the iPad, that I keep it installed and have been using it more and more. However, if you use a different RSS service, or read your feeds primarily on iPhone and iPad, I highly recommend trying ReadKit. Personally, though, the number one deal-breaker on the Mac side of things is the lack of support for Inoreader, the RSS feed service I use, which is supported on iOS and iPadOS version of ReadKit but not the Mac. Very little has changed with the Mac version over the past few years other than bug fixes and compatibility updates, and it has begun to show throughout the app. The only thing holding me back from using it full-time is the Mac app, which is a separate purchase from the iPhone and iPad version. The design adopts modern iOS and iPadOS conventions and technologies, making it a pleasure to use. The app offers offline reading, image caching, and sync in the background. It allows users to manage their subscriptions and articles in one place, with multiple account support. I’ve used the app a lot on the iPad, and it’s fantastic. ReadKit is a read later and RSS client app that supports all major providers and has a built-in RSS engine. I haven’t found an app I like enough to replace Reeder for the time being, but I don’t use my iPad to manage incoming content anyway.ReadKit is an RSS client that’s been around for a long time on the Mac, but only recently debuted on the iPhone and iPad. The iPad and Mac OS X versions have since been removed from the App Store, and I was left without Reeder.Īs it stands now, I don’t do anything RSS related on my iPad. The developer said that those apps weren’t as easy to update and that he’d focus on creating new versions instead. Reeder got removed from my dock and put away to make room for Feedly’s iOS app and their web version on my Mac. I really can’t say enough about this app. Reeder’s earned coveted spots in my dock on my MacBook Pro and my iPad, and if the 4 spots on my iPhone weren’t already claimed, it’d be there too. It was the first app I downloaded to my iPad, and I was part of the Mac version’s beta program. It was one of the first apps I got for my iPhone. It’s no secret, I’m a diehard Reeder app user. Today I’m going to introduce you to the newest app I’ve learned to love. If you have used the Built-in RSS service, you should. On macOS: If you have used any 3rd party news reader or read later service in the macOS version of ReadKit, you can add the same accounts to ReadKit 3, and they will be synced automatically. If you missed how I’m using them, check out the article I linked above. On iOS: Accounts added to the previous version of ReadKit will automatically appear in ReadKit 3. Of course I’ve also managed to find some great little apps over the years to help me with this like Reeder, Feedly, and Pocket. Feedbin has an iOS app but there are lots of other RSS readers that let you log. I subscribe to RSS feeds using an RSS reader and save the articles I want to read for later.
